Part of why we love what we do is that we get to meet lots of interesting people, people who have as much passion for music as we do. So it was great to run into Eddie Spettro on a rooftop bar at this year’s Sonar and geek out about techno over a few beers.
As we discovered, the Spettro discography stretches back to 2002, with an impressive stack of 12″s that have had some serious support from DJs like Miguel Migs, DJ Sneak, and Hernan Catteneo, who featured Spettro tracks on mixes from Defected, Renaissance, and OM Records respectively. Obviously a busy guy, alongside DJing and producing, Spettro is also the operations manager for Uniform Recordings.
Check out his guest mix for a taste of his style – tracky tech-house with a big melodic bounce, crisply cutting edge but with a welcome nod to old skool Chicago in the form of a choice Ralphi Rosario acapella drop – and see if you dig it as much as we do.
