So instead all we’ll say is this… In an exclusive mix for WEPLAYMUSIC, Max brings us a selection of his own tunes alongside remixes for the likes of Dominik Eulberg and Extrawelt. With a flawless track record of quality releases, Rebirth is perhaps the most respected Italian house label of the last few years. With artists such as And If Featuring Alison Limerick, Und, Ajello, and Shield’s own NUfrequency, Rebirth encompasses many aspects of modern house music, combining slick production with a taste for soulful vocals.

Another week, another great guest mix courtesy of WEPLAYMUSIC!
Being big fans of tracks like Rubbo Swingo with its enormous elastic bassline, and Kids of Hula with its infectious syncopated lead synth, we just had to track down the man responsible and ask him for a mix. So for the latest in our WPM ltd series we’re pleased to be able to bring you a little something from Olivier Mateu, AKA Rodriguez Jr.
Perhaps better known as one half of French techno/electro house act The Youngsters, Olivier is responsible for two award winning full length albums on F-Communications, along with a string for remixes for artists like Bolz Bolz, Slam, Agoria, and Erland Oye.
Now working solo under his Rodriguez Jr alias, Olivier has created a new sound, blending progressive basslines with deep and jazzy synths that loop erratically and build into complex musical shapes. Combining experimentation with straight-up dancefloor appeal, it’s a sound that we in WEPLAYMUSIC love.
As Rodriguez Jr, Olivier has tracks on quality labels such as Giant Wheel, Leena, Mothership, & Boxer Recordings, and has now joined the Mobilee roster, so expect more goodness to come.

This week we’re pleased to bring you the first in a new series dedicated to highlighting our homegrown local DJs and artists, from LonDoN to MANchester, to the UK at large!
Kicking us off we have an exclusive mix from Rupert Worthington, resident DJ and co-promoter of Dalston house and techno party Make Me. Taking a similar approach to ourselves, Make Me aims to showcase both the best international DJs and up and coming talent, with bookings such as Lee Curtiss (Wolf+Lamb/Spectral) and Pablo Cahn-Speyer (Cadenza). We’ve had the pleasure of playing at Make Me a number of times and the atmosphere has always been electric!

Here at WEPLAYMUSIC the music keeps on going from strength to strength! We have another lovely little gem to add to the collection, kindly given to us by none other than Fairmont!
Taking a little break from our WPM ltd series of guest mixes, we’re pleased to bring you something a bit different – a unique live mix of his own tracks by Canada’s Fairmont (aka Jake Fairly).
With his two very respected full length artist albums (“Paper Stars” on Traum in 2002, and “Coloured in Memory” on Border Community in 2007), Fairmont has repeatedly proven that you can blend the romance and subtlety of bedroom electronica with the dancefloor appeal of driving techno.
As if that weren’t enough, Fairmont is also responsible for the massive club hit “Gazebo” – a track which can only be described as a minimal anthem, with its unforgettable melody and blissed out vibe.
Reminiscent of fellow emotive electronica/techno artists Isolée and Nathan Fake, this combination of musicality and rhythm has naturally earned him a cult following over the years, with fans including the Pet Shop Boys (who opened their “Back to Mine” compilation with a Fairmont number), and of course ourselves in WEPLAYMUSIC.

For the next installment of the WPMltd series we have a real treat in store for you. We are pleased to bring you a exclusive mix from Matt Walsh. We first witnessed Matt destroying the dancefloor at field day 2008 which for us, was undoubtedly the highlight of the whole festival. Since that day WEPLAYMUSIC have been avid followers!
Matt has emerged onto the scene over the last Five years and was seen by Tiga at T-Bar in London where Matt impressed him with his DJ’ing and style. He then produced three great podcasts for ‘Sid Loves Turbo’ and toured with Turbo Recordings on their “Omnidance” tour of North America and Europe in 2008. Now a Turbo and Bugged Out! resident worldwide, Matt can also be seen performing/promoting the new “High Horse” Fridays at London’s new T Bar and around the globe.
Matt has also been part of a production duo, Clouded Vision, formed alongside Steve Cook. As well as three remixes for Turbo Recordings, they have also remixed We Have Band, Toob, The Golden Filter, King Roc and Johnny Dynell to name a few and will have their first of three EP’s, titled “Neon Rain” out in September on their own collection of limited white labels.
Matt’s solo EP is almost complete and will be ready for the new year, watch this space….
